Correct Primary Gear for Small Bore Pre A Plus Engines

This primary gear suits 850cc, 998cc, and 1100cc Mini and Moke engines from 1965 onwards and is now supplied with a floating bush.

The primary gear is a critical part of the Mini transmission system, transferring drive from the crankshaft through to the clutch and gearbox. If your existing primary gear is worn, noisy, or showing signs of bush wear, replacing it with the correct specification part is essential for smooth operation and long-term reliability.

Important Fitment Note

This gear is for small bore Pre A Plus engines only.

For Cooper “S” and 1275cc Pre A Plus engines, use primary gear [22G1053].

End Float Clearance

Correct primary gear end float must be checked during installation.

Recommended end float clearance: 0.0035″ – 0.0065″
