PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Heavy-duty stainless steel Works-style lamp bar, copied from the original rally design and supplied with the required fittings.

This style of lamp bar was used on LBL66D in the 1967 Monte Carlo Rally, giving your Mini a proper competition-inspired front end while providing a strong and stable mounting point for auxiliary driving lamps.

Unlike basic lamp bars that only bridge between two small brackets, this Works-style setup uses a centre support bracket plus two outer supports. This gives the lamps far better stability and helps reduce vibration, which is essential if you actually want the extra lights to be effective on the road or in competition use.

WHY CHOOSE THIS LAMP BAR?

This is a proper heavy-duty lamp bar for anyone wanting the classic Works rally look without using a mild steel bar that can rust over time.

The stainless steel construction gives better longevity, while the three-point support design helps keep your spotlights steady instead of allowing them to shake and blur the beam. It is a much stronger and more practical setup than light-duty bars that rely on minimal bracket support.

IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTES

This lamp bar cannot be fitted with front over-riders.

The lower section of the grille will need to be modified to clear the two outer brackets. On most Mk2 / Mk3 grilles, the bottom finisher needs to be cut away the width of the outer brackets and relieved upwards, usually to the first slat on an 11-wide-slat grille, or approximately 25mm.

Try not to cut fully through the grille back panel, as this helps support the grille slats. Once fitted, the grille slides down over the outer brackets and the modification is usually not very noticeable.

INSTALLATION OVERVIEW

Remove the grille and front bumper, then remove and discard the over-riders if fitted.

Loosely fit the centre bracket and lamp bar to the centre bumper hole. Then loosely fit the outer brackets to the lamp bar and line them up with the front panel in the required position before drilling the front panel.

This redesigned version is a more straightforward bolt-on fit for current genuine and non-genuine front panels, although grille modification is still required. Early original front panels and Mk1 grilles may require additional cutting, as per the original Works rally cars.
