High capacity water pump with bypass outlet to suit classic Mini and Moke A-Series engines.

This upgraded water pump is designed to circulate a greater volume of coolant than a standard pump, making it a strong choice for standard road cars, hard-driven street cars, performance engines and Australian conditions where cooling efficiency matters.

Unlike many cheaper aftermarket pumps that use pressed steel impellers, this pump features a durable cast iron impeller and aluminium body for improved strength, reliability and coolant movement. The larger impeller design helps reduce cavitation in the engine water jackets, particularly at higher RPM.

WHY CHOOSE THIS WATER PUMP?

Cooling system reliability is critical on any Mini or Moke, especially in hot weather, traffic or performance use. A high capacity pump helps move more coolant through the engine, reducing the chance of hot spots and improving cooling performance over a tired or basic standard pump.

The cast iron impeller makes this pump a better long-term option than cheaper stamped steel impeller designs.

IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTE

The larger impeller extends approximately 1/2″, or 14.03mm, further into the block. All 1275cc blocks and most small bore blocks will accept this pump, but some early 850cc and 997cc engines may require minor relieving of corrosion or material from the liner wall, and possibly slight impeller clearance work.

Always trial fit the pump without the gasket and rotate it by hand to confirm adequate clearance before final installation.

PULLEY CLEARANCE NOTE

For further cavitation reduction, this pump can be paired with the larger diameter water pump pulley [CAM6408], originally fitted to Cooper S and later A-Plus engines.

Always check clearance between the larger pulley and the cylinder head, especially where the cylinder head face has been heavily machined.
