• Every mechanic knows the sinking feeling of a rusted water outlet stud snapping off flush with the cylinder head. In the high-heat, high-moisture environment of your cooling system, standard steel studs don’t just hold your housing—they weld themselves to it through years of corrosion.
• Unlike carbon steel, stainless steel won’t succumb to the constant cycle of coolant and heat. It stays clean, year after year.
• Stainless eliminates the “chemical bond” that forms between iron heads and rusted steel studs. The next time you need to change a thermostat, the nuts will actually come off.
• Stainless steel heater tap studs are located either side of the heater water outlet on the top side of the cylinder head in the rear left corner, when you are viewing the engine standing in front of the car.
• Dimensions 1/4 stud 30mm long. 10mm 1/4 UNF thread at one end and a 15mm 1/4 UNF thread at the opposite end with a 5mm section in the centre with no thread.
• NOTE in the image the stud appears copper in colour but in real life they are silver stainless steel colour.
