Chrome grille surround / moustache trim to suit Mini Mk1 and Mk2 front grilles.

This is the classic Mk1-style moustache surround, finished in deep chrome over brass as per the original 1960s type. Unlike cheaper steel copies that are prone to rust and poor fitment, this brass-based surround offers better corrosion resistance and a much more authentic period appearance.

It is ideal for Mk1 and Mk2 restorations, Cooper-style front ends, or later Minis where a retro grille conversion is being carried out.

WHY CHOOSE THIS SURROUND?

A grille surround is one of the key finishing pieces on the front of a classic Mini. This chrome-on-brass version gives a much better restoration finish than cheaper steel copies, which can rust and often suffer from poor alignment.

Some overseas copies are known to be nearly 5/8″ too high on the left-hand side, making correct fitment difficult or sometimes impossible. This version has been made to give a better fit with available genuine front panels and suitable grille assemblies.

IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTE

For later cars from 1967 onwards, the bonnet moulding lip will need to be removed to allow this grille surround to fit correctly.

Always trial fit before final installation, especially when fitting to later cars, replacement front panels or non-original grille setups.
