PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Genuine AP brake adjuster and tappet kit to suit early Mini front drum brakes and rear drum brakes on Mini and Moke models.

This kit replaces the brake adjuster screw and two tappet wedges fitted to one brake backing plate. The adjuster screw threads into the backing plate and, as it is turned, pushes the two wedges against the brake shoes to expand them out towards the brake drum.

Over time, these parts can suffer from rust, wear and damage. The adjuster screw nose can become grooved, the wedges can wear, and the square adjuster head can round off, making brake adjustment difficult or almost impossible. Replacing the worn parts with this genuine AP kit helps restore smooth, accurate brake adjustment.

WHY REPLACE IT?

Worn brake adjusters can make it difficult to correctly set brake shoe clearance. This can lead to poor brake feel, uneven braking, excessive pedal travel or dragging brakes.

Replacing the adjuster screw and wedges is the best solution when the original parts are rusty, grooved, seized or rounded off.
