PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Left-hand front disc brake hub to suit Mini and Moke Cooper / Cooper S type disc brake setups.

Also known as a hub, bearing carrier, upright or swivel pin, this component supports the front wheel bearings and forms a critical part of the steering and braking assembly. It is commonly required when converting from drum brakes to disc brakes, or when the original hub is worn and no longer supports the bearings correctly.

This is a Mini Spares product made to later Rover drawings and supplied by a UK Heritage specialist, making it a quality replacement for restoration, road use and performance brake conversions.

WHY REPLACE YOUR DISC BRAKE HUB?

A worn front hub can allow poor bearing support, which may lead to bearing movement, premature bearing failure, brake vibration or poor front-end feel.

When converting a Mini or Moke from drum brakes to disc brakes, the correct Cooper / Cooper S type front hubs are required. Replacing worn or unsuitable hubs during a disc brake conversion gives the wheel bearings, brakes and steering components the correct foundation to work safely and reliably.

TECH NOTE

The later [FAM2390] / [FAM2391] style hubs have a stepped end and are 75mm wide where the bearings sit. This was Rover’s later design theory to help reduce bearing flex, especially when larger wheels are fitted.

The earlier original [BTA186] hub has a plain chamfered end and is 72mm wide at the bearing area.

IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTE

This listing is for the left-hand front disc brake hub only.

For high-performance or race applications, inspect the steering arm mounting holes carefully, as these can elongate under hard use. Some race builds add an extra bolt and dowel to the steering arm mounting area for additional security.
