Rear 5/8″ brake wheel cylinder to suit disc brake Mini and Moke applications.

The 5/8″ rear wheel cylinder was commonly used from 1959-1967 on vehicles fitted with front disc brakes, helping reduce rear brake activity and maintain better brake balance. This is important on Minis and Mokes, as incorrect rear wheel cylinder sizing can affect braking performance and make the rear brakes too aggressive.

A worn, leaking or seized rear wheel cylinder can cause poor braking, fluid loss, uneven rear brake operation or difficulty bleeding the brakes. Replacing tired wheel cylinders is an important part of keeping the rear brake system safe and reliable.

IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTE

The best way to confirm the correct wheel cylinder is to remove the old cylinder and measure the bore size before ordering. This wheel cylinder has a 5/8″ bore, which is approximately 15.9mm.

We strongly recommend replacing rear wheel cylinders in pairs. If one side is worn or leaking, the other side is usually the same age and may also be close to failure.
