Thin type flywheel ring gear to suit Mini and Moke applications using the old inertia type starter motor.

This 107-tooth ring gear is the 3/8″ wide thin type and is used with steel flywheels such as [C-AEG619] and [C-AEG421]. It was also originally fitted to some automatic cars and old cast flywheels that were lightened by tuning shops during the 1970s and 1980s.

The ring gear is the contact point for the starter motor, so worn, chipped or damaged teeth can cause poor starter engagement, grinding noises or starting issues. Replacing a worn ring gear during flywheel or clutch work is a sensible way to restore reliable starter operation.

Lightened old cast flywheels are not recommended for competition use. For performance or race applications, use the correct steel flywheel and matching ring gear setup.
