Electronic mechanical advance distributor to suit Mini and Moke A-Series engines.

This [43D4] distributor is normally fitted to later Leyland Minis and Mokes from approximately 1976 to 1982, where mechanical advance weights were used instead of a vacuum advance setup. It will fit any A-Series engine application requiring this style of mechanical advance distributor.

Electronic ignition removes the need for points, helping provide cleaner switching, more consistent ignition performance and reduced maintenance when fitted correctly.

IMPORTANT ELECTRONIC IGNITION WARNING

These distributors are factory tested before supply. When connected and used correctly, they are reliable units.

The main causes of electronic module failure are:

• Reverse polarity connection
• Incorrect or low resistance ignition coil
• Faulty old ignition coil
• Static timing with an old-style test lamp
• Incorrect wiring during installation

Do not carry out static timing using a traditional test lamp, as this can send voltage through the electronic circuit in the wrong direction and damage the module.
