Electronic vacuum advance distributor to suit Mini and Moke A+ engines only.

This [59D4] distributor is normally fitted to imported or very late A+ engine applications. It is suitable for A+ powered Minis and Mokes where an electronic ignition distributor with vacuum advance is required.

Electronic ignition removes the need for points, helping provide cleaner ignition switching, improved reliability and reduced maintenance when installed correctly.

This electronic [59D4] distributor is a practical replacement for suitable A+ engines, giving more consistent ignition operation without the regular adjustment required by points-style distributors.

IMPORTANT ELECTRONIC IGNITION WARNING

These distributors are factory tested before supply. When connected and used correctly, they are reliable units.

The main causes of electronic module failure are:

• Reverse polarity connection
• Incorrect or low resistance ignition coil
• Faulty old ignition coil
• Static timing with an old-style test lamp
• Incorrect wiring during installation

Do not carry out static timing using a traditional test lamp, as this can send voltage through the electronic circuit in the wrong direction and damage the module.
