VALVE SPRING RETAINERS – STEEL [88G617]

1 x valve spring retainer

• Standard valve spring retainers for small single groove collet type valves.
• If you require heavy duty retainers see part no. AEA653.
• Can be used for earlier 88G616 but it will sit about 20 thou higher in fitted spring height but works fine for standard uses.
• Both 2A11 and 88G459 collets depending on valve type used, both fit this top cap and have been fitted on our std reconditioned heads.
• Earlier 2A880 and AEA402 top caps that were fitted with the valve guide shrouds were superseded by 88G616 and shroud deleted by Leyland.
• Top of valve spring to top of valve: original large collet cap 2A880 is 296 thou and with shroud 2A545,valve and collets are 329thou. small collet cap 88G617/AEA653, later valve CAM6505 and small type collets 88G459 are 256thou.
• original large collet cap, later valve CAM6505 and small type collets 88G459 are 276thou.
• 8 Required per cylinder head.
