A+ idler gear thrust washer / shim to suit Mini and Moke A-Series gearbox applications.

Correct idler gear clearance is critical in any Mini power unit. The idler gear transfers drive between the engine and gearbox, and if the clearance is not set correctly, it can cause noise, premature wear or serious gearbox damage.

This later A+ specification shim is the type Rover superseded to when upgrading idler gear material on injection model engines. It is used to accurately set idler gear end float during gearbox assembly or rebuild.

IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTE

The idler gear must be shimmed carefully to achieve the correct clearance. Always measure during assembly and refer to the workshop manual before final fitting.

Do not guess shim thickness, as incorrect idler gear clearance can quickly lead to excessive noise, wear or failure.
