Replacement A+ idler gear to suit Mini and Moke A+ gearbox applications.

This is the later style A+ idler gear, manufactured from what is commonly known as clean steel. This material was introduced to help reduce powertrain wear and was used on later multi-point injection Mini models.

A good quality idler gear is critical in any Mini or Moke gearbox rebuild, as it transfers drive between the primary gear and gearbox input gear. Excessive wear, pitting or incorrect end float can quickly lead to noise, poor reliability and expensive gearbox damage.

IMPORTANT IDENTIFICATION NOTE

This A+ idler gear can be identified by the single line groove running around one side under the teeth, similar to a machine mark.

Please check your existing idler gear tooth count and bearing setup before ordering to ensure correct fitment.

REBUILD ADVICE

When replacing an idler gear, always inspect the idler bearings, thrust faces, transfer housing and end float. Correct idler gear end float is essential for quiet operation and long gearbox life.
