PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Central oil pick up pipe to suit Mini and Moke A-Series engine and gearbox assemblies.

The standard Mini oil pick up pipe sits toward the right-hand side of the gearbox casing. Under normal driving this is usually fine, but during long or hard cornering, especially with low oil level, oil can move away from the pick up. This can cause the oil pressure gauge to dip and may leave the engine short of oil when it needs it most.

Even a brief loss of oil pressure at high RPM can cause serious engine damage. Fitting a central oil pick up helps keep the oil supply more consistent during cornering, making it a sensible upgrade for fast road, competition or spirited driving applications.

WHY FIT A CENTRAL OIL PICK UP?

Oil starvation can be disastrous, even if it only happens for a moment. A central oil pick up helps keep the pick up point better positioned in the oil supply, reducing the chance of pressure loss during long bends or hard cornering.

It can also help protect the oil pump by trapping tiny foreign particles that contribute to pump wear, adding another layer of protection for your engine.

IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTE

On older remote-type gearboxes, the hole that the gauze passes through may need to be enlarged, or the gauze may need to be carefully bent away from the reverse idler for correct clearance.

Always check clearance and oil pick up fitment carefully during assembly.
