MINI & MOKE DRUM BRAKE DRIVING FLANGE [21A231]

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Replacement front driving flange to suit Mini and Moke models fitted with front drum brakes.

Drum brake Minis use this style of drive flange, where the smaller splined CV joint slides into the flange. The front hub bearing also runs directly on the shaft section of the flange, making the condition of this surface extremely important.

If the wheel bearing end float is not set correctly, the bearing can spin on the flange shaft and quickly destroy it. Once this surface becomes grooved, stepped or worn, the bearing can no longer run correctly and the flange should be replaced.

• Bearing surface: Front hub bearing inner race runs on the flange shaft
• Spacer may be required separately: [2A4295]
• 1 required per side
• 2 required per vehicle

IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTE

The shaft section of the driving flange must be perfectly smooth, with no steps, grooves or wear marks. If this area is damaged, the wheel bearing may not run correctly and premature bearing failure can occur.

You may also require spacer [2A4295], which provides the running surface for the inner seal.

TECH NOTE

Always check and set the front wheel bearing end float correctly during assembly. If the bearing is not clamped tightly enough, it can spin on the flange shaft and cause serious damage to the flange and bearing assembly.
