MINI & MOKE CAMSHAFT TRIANGLE/THRUST PLATE – [AHU2379]

Camshaft thrust plate sits just behind the camshaft pulley with the timing gear. With good maintenance we recommended if you are changing the cam or rebuilding the engine you shouldn’t do so with out replacing the thrust plate. This thrust plate also referred to as the “Triangle Plate” this small but important plate doesn’t just hold the cam in to the block but also it also locates it within the correct tolerance. There is a bearing surface on the plate, and when that wears the cam can literally walk back and forth. The point here is that any time you have the cam plate off you should replace it, as you would with any engine bearing.
