The common practice for inspecting pushrods is to roll them over a flat surface and then use the truest 8 out of a used pile! The pushrod is an important part of the valve train and must be in perfect condition for quiet running and optimum performance. The end that sits in the cam follower is also important as power can be lost by poor fitment on the radius between follower and rod.

There are two lengths;

215mm for small bore 850-1100cc – 2A14

221mm for 1275cc – see AEG314
