Competition grade layshaft to suit Mini and Moke A-Series 4-synchro gearboxes.

This upgraded layshaft is suitable for Morris Cooper S, Mini K and Leyland rod change gearbox applications using the 4-synchro A-Series gearbox setup. The layshaft is a critical gearbox component, supporting the laygear and helping maintain correct gear mesh, bearing support and long-term gearbox reliability.

A worn or damaged layshaft can cause gearbox noise, poor bearing support, excessive wear and eventual gearbox failure. This competition-grade option is ideal for stronger rebuilds, performance use or any quality gearbox overhaul where durability matters.

IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTE

This layshaft is for A-Series 4-synchro gearbox applications only. For 3-synchro gearboxes, use [22A1731]. For 3-synchro A+ type gearboxes, use [C-22A1739].

Always inspect the laygear bearing surfaces, needle rollers, thrust washers and gearbox casing during assembly, as worn supporting parts can quickly damage a new layshaft.
