Replacement 31 tooth idler gear to suit Mini and Moke Pre A+ engines fitted with all-synchro gearboxes.

The idler gear is one of the most critical parts in the Mini drivetrain, transferring drive between the engine and gearbox. If the Mini drivetrain has a weak point, this is often where problems begin, especially when wear, incorrect shimming or poor assembly practices are involved.

A worn or damaged idler gear can cause noise, excessive backlash, bearing failure and expensive gearbox damage, making it an important part to inspect during any engine or gearbox rebuild.
